Actions and Reactions

It is one task to carefully observe how we “act”, but it adds a whole new dynamic dimension when we begin to observe how we “react” in the situations and interactions of our lives.
Eventually, the ability to self monitor our reactions creates extra thinking time, slowing down automatic unwanted reactions, so that we are able to intercept the unwanted reaction and respond more constructively.

Living Consciously Topic 5

 It may be found a constructive re-engagement like this starts to take place straight away, however, the first goal is to simply observe. On one hand we are observing our actions, our behaviour, and, on the other hand, we are observing our reactions, our emotional responses and trigger points. Focus on reactions that occur throughout the day in response to involvement in ordinary tasks and interactions.
